If the anticipation of waiting until October for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 to launch is eating away at your insides, you may want to dive into Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for a bit. Don’t have it? Well, if you’re a subscriber to the PlayStation Plus service you can actually get the game without shelling out a penny.

Call of Duty Black Ops III

As of June 11th, BO3 was made available for FREE as a bit of a surprise giveaway to PS Plus members. The offer is available to all subscribers through July 12th. This announcement came in the wake of E3 and comes alongside the reveal of a new trailer for BO4.

The base Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 game retails for around $29.99 for the PS4 platform as of right now. So, if you take advantage of the free download, you’re getting to gain access to a great game and keep $30 in your wallet – perhaps to put towards a pre-order for Black Ops 4, yeah?

BO3 was released on November 6th, 2015 and advanced the Black Ops series even further into the future, introducing a slew of different movement mechanics, the specialists, a load of new weaponry, and much more. The game has a fairly well-balanced multiplayer aspect, as well as a robust zombies mode for players to enjoy. Numerous new maps and weapons were made available through DLC. The game continues to get content and gameplay updates as well.

As of right now, there’s no word on whether or not Black Ops 3 will be made available for free download on other platforms such as Xbox One, Xbox 360, or PS3.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, on the other hand, is bringing players back down to the ground with more boots-on-the-ground style gameplay. BO4 is set to release on October 12th of this year and will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
